Highgrove living; new and repurposed furniture

It has been an exiting week, we finally received most of our furniture. The house feels more and more like our home. I can’t believe it has been less than two months!

When we had the offer on our house accepted in January, we realised we needed some new and additional furniture.

Many furniture stores nowadays provide a free stylist consultation service. After a suggestion from Ainslie we decided to contact West Elm in Brisbane via their website.

They responded quickly and I gave their stylist, the lovely Vanessa, our room dimensions, a list of furniture items and an idea of the style we like.

She was excellent, coming up with great suggestions via email. We popped into the shop just once (I have to sit on a chair or sofa before I will buy them!!). And we mainly went with her first choice, except for the bedroom selection which we changed to a more mid century modern style.

We are very happy with the results!

With the pandemic shipping situation, we had some delays, but most of it was delivered and assembled this week. We can now comfortably sleep seven! Just awaiting the outdoor setting now.

And we always love to repurpose items. This home came with four wooden coatracks in lieu of wardrobes. We are having an ensuite wardrobe made, but these will be excellent for guests!

All they needed was a lick of paint to take them from sauna to Hamptons!
